Pradeep Jayasuriya is our GP who graduated from the University of Western Australia medical school in 1986. He is a passionate advocate for primary care which he sees as the cornerstone to good health. An ideal general practice should reflect the ethos of the traditional family doctor in a contemporary technologically centred practice.
Aside from working as a full time GP, Pradeep is actively involved in the education of the undergraduate and post graduate medical and allied health professionals. A wide and varied research activities include work in the areas of medicine use, incontinence, iron deficiency, information management and chronic disease. He has contributed to guideline development in preventive health care and chronic disease self-management. Currently the priority areas are iron deficiency, medication safety and community health.
Anyone visiting the practice will know that cats are important. In the spare time he likes anything to do with sci fi, keeping fit and if time allows pursue artistic interests.
