Validating kids is so important. It means we are acknowledging their emotions, thoughts and experiences. Validation isn't about agreeing, placating, or “fixing” the other person or situation.

Why is it so important to validate children?

Emotional validation helps children feel heard, cared for and valued. It encourages honesty and fosters trust. When parents validate children, kids are better able to feel and express their emotions, develop a secure sense of self, grow self-esteem, gain confidence, feel more connected to their parents and have better relationships in adulthood.
