Meet Simona Tanasie, Registered Psychologist

Simona is passionate about building relationships and working with people from diverse backgrounds and populations. Her main goal is to build rapport and help people feel comfortable, safe and supported in session. She values feedback and questions, and strives to meet each client’s needs with empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard.

Simona has been trained in using a variety of evidence-based therapies to provide an individualised, person-centred approach. Her clinical experience and training primarily include techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy but also draws from other approaches, such as Motivational Interviewing and Interpersonal Therapy.

Simona works with children, youth and adults and specialises with clients experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, Bipolar disorder, emotion regulation difficulties, interpersonal difficulties and more; however, she has a particular interest in the management of risk associated with self-harm and suicide.

She adopts a warm, collaborative and non-judgemental approach to help her clients achieve goals and build resilience, in order to create lasting change and improve their quality of life.
