Telehealth is the Rule at Next Practice Victoria Park

Full telehealth service from Thursday the 26th March

Here at Next Practice Victoria Park your safety and that of our staff is our primary concern. Because of that we’ve decided to go to full telehealth as of Thursday the 26th of March. Our preferred platform is FaceTime which requires an iPhone, iPad or Mac. If you don’t have any of these devices please let us know and we will phone you instead.

We may ask you to email us photos or other images, the email address we will be using is the same as on our website: victoria.park@nextpracticehealth.com

If during the telehealth consultation it becomes clear that you need to be seen in person then we can schedule a time for this when the clinic is prepared and we have no high risk patients present.

Because of the increased demand in checking patients for COVID symptoms our phone lines will be particularly busy. Please bear with us during this time. Where possible please book your telehealth consultation via our website or our online booking service HotDoc: https://www.hotdoc.com.au/medical-centres/st-james-WA-6102/next-practice-victoria-park/doctors

Prescriptions or repeat referrals can be ordered online for a small fee or can be done via a telehealth consultation. We can arrange for these to be sent to your pharmacy direct, if you want this please have their phone, fax and email handy.

Many patients are eligible for a bulk-billed telehealth consultation, these include:

  • Those over 70 years of age.
  • People of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent over 50 years of age.
  • Anyone with a chronic disease (diabetes, arthritis, fatty liver, high blood pressure etc)
  • Pregnant women
  • Parents of a child under 12 months

Patients who don’t meet these criteria will need to phone the surgery on 7905 7200 and book a private telehealth consultation, with payment of $50 in advance.

We are still taking new patients, new patients will need to be seen on site. Please book as per normal, phone when you arrive and we can see you in an isolation room or your car.

We have established a Next Practice YouTube channel where we will be posting regular updates, see: https://youtu.be/HAsAqIBKqyQ

In a final bit of good news for our team, Dr Lin Chan and her family welcomed a baby daughter in to the world last Thursday. Mother and baby are doing well and should be home soon.

Stay safe and healthy everyone and let us know if there's anything we can do to help,

The team at Next Practice Victoria Park.
