We are delighted to introduce Dr Lin Chan to Next Practice Victoria Park. We sat down with Dr Lin to find out a bit more about her....
I was born in Perth and graduated from the University of WA in 2006 with MBBS (Hons). I've worked at SCGH, Princess Margaret Hospital, KEMH, Joondalup Health Campus before completing my specialist GP training in 2013. I have a Diploma of Children’s Health (PMH) and a Vocational Diploma of Women’s Health (KEMH).
I enjoy all aspects of General Practice but have a particular interest in women's and children's health. I offer shared antenatal care and Implanon insertion and removal. I'm a registered Youth Friendly Doctor with additional training in adolescent medicine. I look forward to providing an empathetic, thorough level of care for my patients.
I'm interested in education and have been involved in teaching medical students and GP registrars. I'm an examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and an external clinical tutor to GP registrars for WA General Practice Education and Training (WAGPET). I was fortunate to be awarded the WAGPET GP Registrar of the Year award in 2012.
When I'm not at work, my husband and I have our hands full with our toddler daughter with another one on the way! I usually enjoy cooking, watching action movies and cryptic crosswords, but these days I'm more likely to be at the zoo, modelling playdough or endlessly singing Sesame Street songs! My favourite place to travel is Japan, my last meal request would be a Malaysian Laksa, and I have an Associate in Music diploma for piano. I'm absolutely awful at gardening and can only be trusted with hardy succulents or artificial plants!
