What is Next Aid?

At Next Practice, we want to create pathways for those who may be facing challenges, providing them with the support and resources they need to succeed. That's why we’ve partnered with UNICEF Australia to support their maternal and neonatal health program in PNG. We call it our Next Aid initiative.

Over the next three years Next Practice have committed to providing funds that improve maternal, newborn and child healthcare, with a focus on contributing to Tetanus-Diphtheria vaccinations, helping children in the region to thrive and fulfil their potential.

Why did we start Next Aid?

We believe everyone should start from the same place and deserves to have access to basic human rights like healthcare and education. Next Aid is our unwavering commitment to help ensure no person should die from a preventable disease.

What impact does Next Aid have?

The Next Aid program allows UNICEF Australia to procure vaccinations that eliminate preventable maternal and neonatal disease.

Funding also contributes to the training of health workers and communities on the importance of immunisation. The Next Aid program allows us to educate communities, promoting increase of access to immunisation and maternal health care.

Funds from the Next Aid Initiative equates to 677,436 vaccinations to date (and counting…).

Why Papua New Guinea?

Papua New Guinea (PNG) is Australia’s closest neighbour, with less than four kilometres separating the two countries, however the health situation for mothers and children could not be more different.

Infant mortality rates in PNG are among the worst in the world. One in 13 children die each year in PNG, mostly from preventable diseases. Mostly from conditions that are easily prevented with basic medical care and routine vaccination.

PNG is the only country in the East Asia Pacific region which is yet to eliminate MNT, however through this partnership between Next Practice and UNICEF Australia, we can create significant lasting change for every child, no matter what.

How do we donate?

We are able to achieve Next Aid by working with UNICEF Australia.

For every consultation at a Next Practice medical centre a donation is made to someone in need through UNICEF.

Your appointment is making a difference.

Together, we can work towards a world where every mother and child has access to quality healthcare.
