Dr Joan has extensive experience as a general practitioner. She did her medical training in the United Kingdom and qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Imperial College London. Joan also has experience working in Charing Cross Hospital in London and now has a fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Joan came to Australia in 1986 on a working holiday and has been here ever since; living, working and traveling.
Joan’s approach to patient care is of a thorough, organised, pragmatic and non-judgemental manner. She has a particular fascination in working with marginalised disadvantaged patients as well as transgender health and chronic disease management. These are the areas that Joan believes we can make the most difference in. Some of her other clinical interests include HIV, refugee health and mental health.
