Which doctor is right for me?

All of our doctors have special interests. That means they have done extra training and qualifications in areas that are of interest to them. Please click on their profiles above to see their interests and which one would be a good fit for you. Alternatively, you can give us a call on 07 3518 7880 and speak to a patient advocate to discuss which doctor would be most suitable.

Will I receive a Medicare rebate?

You will be eligible for a Medicare Rebate for telehealth appointments if you have visited the clinic for a face-to-face consultation previously. If not, you can still book a telehealth consultation, however you will not be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate, until we have seen you for a face-to-face consultation.

How do I access the telehealth consultation?

When you make a booking you will receive a confirmation email at the time of booking.

This email will include your unique telehealth link.

How will I receive my prescription?

Where prescriptions are provided by the doctor, eScripts are conveniently delivered to your smartphone for dispensing by pharmacies Australia-wide.

How will I receive my referral or medical certificate?

If you have downloaded the Patient App, our doctors can send your referral or medical certificate direct to your app to access anytime, anywhere.

If you do not have the Patient App, our friendly team can email it to you.

Are bookings instant?

Yes! Once you book an appointment, and a deposit is paid, your appointment is confirmed.

How much is the deposit?

Please note that full payment is required before the start of Telehealth appointments.

When will I need to pay for my appointment?

The payment for your Telehealth appointment will be need to be made prior to the scheduled appointment. If for whatever reason the appointment is cancelled, then you will be refunded the amount paid or can use it towards a rescheduled appointment.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Appointments that need to be cancelled with 24 hours notice can be cancelled via your booking confirmation email, with no cancellation fee or by calling (07) 3518 7880.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and plans can change. However, we also recognise that our medical professionals' time is valuable, and their schedules can be tight. Therefore, we have implemented the following DNA (Did Not Attend) cancellation policy:

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require at least 2hours' notice.

If you fail to attend your appointment without warning; a fee of $50 will apply. Please note that no Medicare rebate applies to this charge.

Can I have my Medical records transferred to my doctor in preparation for the consultation?

Absolutely! You will need to complete a medical records of transfer request here, and send to newstead.pa@nextpracticehealth.com

Please note that some clinics may take 1-2 weeks to complete this request.

Can I see my Doctor in person following the telehealth appointment?

Yes, your telehealth Doctor practices at Next Practice Newstead and is also available for in person appointments.

Will the doctor prescribe S4 or S8 medications via telehealth?

Doctors are unable to prescribe Schedule 8 medicines and Schedule 4D medicines via a telehealth consultation.

Schedule 8 and Schedule 4D medicines include but not exclusively;

S8: Alprazolam, Buprenorphine, Dexamphetamine, Fentanyl, Hydromorphone, Lis-dexamphetamine, Methadone, Methylphenidate, Morphine, Oxycodone, Tapentadol and Pethidine.

Schedule 4D: Benzodiazepines (Clonazepam, Diazepam, Oxazepam, Temazepam), Phentermine, Pregabalin, Testosterone, Modafinil, Zolpidem and Zopiclone.

What if I have a medical emergency?

If the event you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 000 for emergency help or attend your nearest hospital.
