The workshop is free for currently registered medical doctors and includes valuable insights into the management of patient mental health, offering practical guidance for general practitioners.
Learning outcomes:
The workshop provides medical doctors with 1 hour of educational activities and 1 hour of reviewing performance activities. Afternoon tea will be provided and CPD certificates can be issued upon request.
Your presenters:
Dr Rajeev Kumar
Dr Rajeev Kumar MBBS, MD, DPM, FRANZCP, PhD is a senior consultation-liaison psychiatrist with a special interest in neuropsychiatry. He has been an academic psychiatrist since 2000 and worked in ACT Mental Health and the Australian National University. He has extensive clinical experience spanning over 25 years in Australia and overseas. He is well known for his research in the field of neurocognitive disorders and has published widely. He completed a PhD in neuropsychiatry of mild cognitive impairment (early dementia) at the Australian National University under the mentorships of Prof Anthony F Jorm, Perminder Sachdev, Helen Christensen, and Kaaren Anstey. Dr Kumar has been the recipient of several national and international awards, including the most prestigious Organon Young Psychiatrist Award by the RANZCP and the International Investigator Award by the International College of Psychneuropharmacology.
Dr Pieter Hurter
Dr Pieter Hurter is an Australian-based health professional. Pieter is trained as a Psychiatrist.
Dr Paresh Dawda
Paresh is the co-founder, director, and principal of Next Practice Deakin. He is interested in high-performance health systems and joined-up care, particularly how some health systems better integrate physical and mental health. He is well known for developing general practice capability in Australia and internationally, and his experience and learnings have been incorporated into Next Practice Deakin.
