Join us for an educational talk and workshop with renowned Cardiologist, Dr Kashif Kalam, and Principal and Director at Prestantia Health and Next Practice Deakin, Dr Paresh Dawda.

The workshop is free for currently registered medical doctors and includes valuable insights into the management of atrial fibrillation and heart failure, offering practical guidance for general practitioners.

Learning outcomes:

  • Evaluate your current management plan for atrial fibrillation and heart conditions.
  • Identify practical tips and strategies that you can implement into your practice.
  • Describe valuable insights into the management of atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

The workshop provides medical doctors with 1 hour of educational activities and 1 hour of reviewing performance activities. Afternoon tea will be provided and CPD certificates can be issued upon request.

Your presenters:

Dr Kashif Kalam

Dr Kalam is a Cardiologist/Multimodality Cardiac Imaging Specialist at Canberra Hospital and finished his Cardiology training in Canberra. He is a General Cardiologist with post specialisation training in multi-modality cardiac imaging including Echocardiography, Cardiac CT Angiography and Cardiac MRI. Dr Kalam consults at our Calvary Clinic rooms.

Dr Paresh Dawda

Dr Paresh is the Principal and Director at Prestantia Health and Next Practice Deakin. Dr Dawda’s interest is in system level interventions dating back over 15 years in the United Kingdom. Dr Dawda became involved as a member of the guidelines development group with the National Collaborating Centre for Chronic Conditions (NICE). The experience exposed Dr Dawda to a way of working including addressing pertinent research questions, using the PICO approach to identify research to answer those questions and to incorporate health economics analysis. The goal was to use a balanced approach to inform decision making aimed at delivering public value.
