Liz Whitehead

Senior Clinic Advocate - Operations Manager

"At Next Practice, we believe in thinking beyond traditional healthcare models to provide innovative and accessible services for those who face challenges in accessing care."

Liz’s early journey in general practice began unexpectedly when she stepped in as a temporary receptionist. Captivated by the supportive and patient-focused environment, she quickly realised her passion for healthcare and teamwork.

This passion led Liz to extend her role into practice management and pursue further studies, earning Diplomas in Business and Human Resources, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Industry Management. With a strong commitment to rural and remote healthcare, Liz has spent time establishing an Indigenous general practice in remote Queensland and working closely with Aboriginal Medical Services. She has played key roles in mentoring teams, supporting accreditation processes, and implementing compliance measures to enhance daily operations and quality improvements.

Her dedication was recognised when she was named runner-up for Queensland’s Practice Manager of the Year. Since then, Liz has continued to contribute to healthcare in roles where she can make a meaningful impact. Her expertise in quality improvement, project leadership, patient advocacy, and practical problem-solving has led her to Next Practice, where she thrives in a dynamic team with shared values.

When she’s not busy working, Liz enjoys gardening and spending time with family and friends.
