All about our GP Registrar's

Here at Next Practice Erina we love learning and mentoring. We are committed to helping the GP's of the future, in their journey to attaining full Fellowship. What does that mean for you?

A registrar is a qualified medical practitioner who is undergoing further specialised training in a specialised field of medicine, such as general practice.

Registrars work under the supervision of experienced supervising doctors or specialists in their chosen field. They are typically in the process of completing their post graduate training to become a fully qualified specialist in their chosen area of medicine.

In times of GP shortage , registrars enable us to fill a workforce gap in order to offer care to more patients, that we could not do otherwise.

Registrar doctors must rotate through different practices during their training to gain a broad range of clinical experience. We know it can be disruptive changing doctors , however we do our best to ensure a smooth and complete transition for continuity.

Having a fresh set of eyes is often helpful.

They are always overseen by Dr Avard and Dr Kafer and if you like a particular registrar we will always facilitate a handover of your care, to them, in their new practice.
