At Next Practice Deakin, we believe in a team-based approach to care. The Nurse Practitioners predominantly support care provision in residential aged care, care of housebound people and also in elderly retirement facilities. They can:

  • diagnose and treat a variety of health-related conditions
  • prescribe medications
  • order and interpret pathology and radiology tests
  • initiate referrals to other health professionals
  • case management and care coordination

The nurse practitioners, Joanne Dean, Jan Scott, Nilly Ran, Nikki Johnston and Robyne Hingley work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians with the GPs, practice nurses, practice pharmacist, social worker and patient advocates. We're privileged to support a fantastic team and grateful to be involved in training nurse practitioners by supporting clinical experience for their interprofessional hours.
