Dayna enjoys all aspects of General Practice and is passionate about patient-centred care, health promotion and preventive health care.
Dayna is an accredited GP provider of focussed psychological strategies and has a Graduate Certificate of Psychiatric Medicine. She is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Psychiatric Medicine and has undertaken additional training in anxiety, depression, youth mental health, eating disorders, trauma-informed care, and substance use (alcohol and other drugs). She has a strengths-based, recovery-oriented approach to psychotherapy and has studied Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Dayna has a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and can insert and remove Implanon contraceptive devices. Dayna also has a Diploma in Child Health.
Prior to becoming a GP, Dayna worked in a number of areas of medicine including: adult and paediatric acute care, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, general surgery, and psychiatry (adult and child/adolescent).
In addition to working at the practice, Dayna works in a team with other doctors and allied health professionals to produce evidence-based medical guidelines. She also participates in the education and training of doctors. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and practising yoga.
