ESCAPING WINTER ILLNESS *


Here are some tips for staying fit and healthy this winter, to shake off the chills and sluggishness and THRIVE!

Bulletproof your immune system with these holistic prevention solutions:

  • Use the “Wind Gate” located at the base of the neck to prevent and treat cold, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine.
  • Remedies from your kitchen: ginger, chilli and cayenne, composition powder, garlic, lemon myrtle, sage and thyme, peppermint, elder and yarrow tea formula, Manuka honey. Tea tree, lemon myrtle and eucalyptus oils may be gargled or inhaled with steam.
  • Herbal medicine such as echinacea and andrographis.
  • Acupuncture
  • Food as medicine: antioxidant-rich foods, carotenoids, vitamins A, B6, C, D, E, and minerals iron, zinc, selenium and copper with good hydration. During winter it is best to eat warming foods.   • Exercise: exercise could flush tissue toxins, improve your circulation and mobilise immune blood cells. A hot bath or a visit to steam room could improve the circulation if you feel too weak to exercise.
