Please note, Dr Penny Caldicott is practicing at fugen HEALTH, Suite 3.29/4 Ilya Ave, Erina NSW 2250. All in person appointments will take place at fugen HEALTH.
Penny graduated from Newcastle University and, after a short stint in the hospital system, obtained her General Practice fellowship. She has been practising in the community for 33 years, as a conventional and integrative GP. She was the founder and director of Invitation to Health, an integrative medical practice on the Central Coast, where she helped to create a team of practitioners who offer patients treatment that respects and integrates the best of evidence-based conventional and complementary medicine, a balance that instils confidence for patients and colleagues.
Penny is passionate about integrative medicine (IM) and has been involved with several organisations that champion IM to other health practitioners, the government, and the public. She believes that IM's focus on patient centric and individualised care can make a significant contribution to prevention and reversal of chronic disease in Australia. For eight years, she was the President of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association, the peak body for IM in Australasia.
Penny focuses on understanding the unique factors contributing to each patient's illness. In a complex system like the human body, addressing just some of these factors can significantly and positively affect the body's ability to regenerate and support a healthy state. She values deep listening and spends the time to develop a trusting relationship with each patient.
At Genbiome, Penny will conduct Deep Health consultations with a experienced naturopath - Adrian Adams (https://www.fugenhealth.com.au...).The Deep Health model of care started over a decade ago in Penny's previous practice and brings the combined skills of a doctor and naturopath to assess and treat each patient. Over time it became clear that Deep Health was a unique and effective model that facilitated good clinical outcomes and a welcomed sense of patient care. Adrian has been part of the ongoing development of this model of care and has worked closely with Penny over the last four years. They have found that what they each have to offer is greatly enhanced by working together.
Penny will not become your GP; you must have your own. She will stay part of the team while needed, and at intervals determined by the team and the patient, Adrian will follow up with patients on his own with Penny on call as needed. With consent, the team will communicate with your GP to facilitate the more extensive team approach and keep your primary GP in the loop.
