Jan Scott
Nurse Practitioner
"Next Practice philosophies of delivering health care align with mine in that health clinicians are here to provide people with information so that they are fully informed and the able to make decisions re their treatment/care. Also particularly in that there is a team approach to health care."
Jan’s journey to becoming a Nurse Practitioner started with a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), followed by a Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation, a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing (Aged Care Major) and lastly, a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner). Jan has had extensive experience which has seen her work as a Clinical Nurse Consultant in Wagga Wagga, an ACAT assessor and delegate, a contributor to the Nurse Practitioner Models of Care Project and on the admissions/discharge committee for Yathong Lodge Dementia.
Following this experience, it is no surprise that Jan holds a particular clinical interest in rehabilitation, wound management and dementia care. More broadly, Jan’s approach to care is thorough and attentive, making sure that she takes the time to listen and talk to patients and their families in a way that is truly understandable.
Outside of her clinical duties, Jan is a lover of three things in particular: cats, labradors and sewing! Exploring and experiencing what our beautiful country has to offer is also something she enjoys.
