IMPORTANT NOTICE

If you are experiencing any respiratory symptoms, have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting for COVID-19 test results, please do not book a face-to-face appointment at our practice.

Telehealth available

We offer Telehealth appointments for patients experiencing any of the following symptoms, regardless of how mild:

  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Vomiting and diarrhorea
  • Loss of taste or smell

If you have had a COVID-19 test in the last 72 hours, please contact our reception team on 07 3518 7880 to discuss your consultation options. Alternatively, if you are needing to be seen face to face more urgently, please either attend Government respiratory clinic or present to a hospital emergency centre.

Covid-19 Protocol

With the significant increase in COVID-19 cases in Queensland, Next Practice Newstead have made some changes for the safety of our patients and our team.

When you arrive at the practice you will notice our reception staff wearing masks along with your doctor during your consultation. These masks are to protect our patients, doctors and staff.

All patients are to wear masks and follow directives according to the Queensland Government Guidelines, to ensure the safety of yourself and others around you.

While face-to-face consultations are still allowed, to ensure the safety of our patients and care team, we have implemented the following changes:

  • If you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, we recommend you make a Telehealth appointment.
  • There is hand sanitiser at the entry for you to use when you enter the practice.
  • If you have any respiratory symptoms please contact the practice on (07) 3518 7880 before you come in.
  • If you present with symptoms at reception, you may be directed to a Telehealth appointment or to a RAT test pending the discretion of your health care provider.
  • If you have ongoing symptoms and know it's not Covid-19, you can book a face-to-face appointment with a negative RAT test, pending the discretion of your health care provider. Please confirm with our clinic before booking a face-to-face appointment if you have symptoms.
