Lumbini graduated from The University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka in 2001. She trained in the areas of her special interests including psychiatry, obstetrics, and paediatrics. She completed her AMC exams in 2011 and began her Australian training in Caboolture Hospital soon after. She brings 5 years of experience as a General Practitioner working throughout rural Queensland.
Lumbini's special interests are mental health, children's health and women's health. She takes a holistic approach to medicine and enjoys the educational aspects of community medicine.
