We're excited to announce that Dr Yanyan Wu is returning from maternity leave and will be available for appointments starting Wednesday, 11th September - yay! ๐๏ธ
Languages: English, Mandarin (ๆฎ้่ฏ)
Why I Became a GP: "I truly enjoyed all the different specialties when working at hospitals, so I chose general practice which provides the most diversity in medicine. I love working with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds and of all age groups. My patients don't just see me for health advice, they also share their stories and knowledge of life with me. General practice provides me the perfect opportunity to advocate for preventative medicine and health education which I am passionate about. The holistic nature and continuity care in general practice help me see patients with illness rather than focusing on illness in patients."
Special Interests: - General practice ๐ฉบ - Women's health (pre-pregnancy counseling, antenatal, and postnatal care) ๐ถ - Children's health ๐งธ - Preventative medicine and lifestyle choices (diet, exercise, sleep) ๐๐ค - Mental health ๐ฑ
Hobbies: "I am an amateur stargazer who is always wowed by the beautiful sky, celestial objects as well as the mythology behind them. I love solving all sorts of puzzles and often spend time competing with my son solving Rubik's cube. Reading books and listening to podcasts about parenting. Swimming. As a long-time non-swimmer, I picked up swimming during my latest pregnancy. Currently I am learning butterfly stroke which looks more like caterpillar stroke at the moment.
